Thor has been a fabulous addition to the genetics of our herd. He is tame and gentle and passes that onto his offspring as well. His pedigree includes such greats as Dreadlock, Wooly Bully (import) and Queen Allante (import). He is 3/4 wooly so he adds a little fiber to his offspring as well. Thor is an 'Imperial- Royal' meaning he can throw an Imperial Trim which has the black nose.
Thor is quite easy to 'work', he LOVES to be brushed and is quite cooperative in the squeeze chute and head gate. We feel very lucky that he trusts us so much...nothing like the love from a gentle giant!

Yahoo Bloo was a 'must have' after we lost her famous grandfather Sherpa H100 in 2012 at the age of 14. We were never able to part with Sherpa so we never kept any of his daughters while he was alive. Once gone, we purchased our current bull Thor Y052 and began buying some of Sherpa's granddaughters to keep his tame and gentle bloodlines going. Breeding these girls to Thor as worked out very well, we are able to combine some of the very old lines with some of the newer lines and get the best of both worlds.
Yahoo is a great mama and has been known to throw extremely friendly bull calves!!!

Description
Here at High Country Critters we are celebrating 19 years in yaks!! We raise 'seed stock' calves for breeding, showing, fiber or just pasture pets. All calves are IYAK registered as Full Foundation (DNA certified), wormed, vaccinated (heifers get the Bang's Vax too) and well socialized with people to the point of petting, scratching and brushing. We can create breeding pairs or starter herds with other local ranchers and those groups can be weaned here together so they are buddies prior to be delivered or picked up. We provide a 10 page Yak Care Guide as well as Nutritional requirements. We work with you as long as you own yaks, references available upon request. We currently have two Royal (black and white) 2019 yak calves for sale. They will be ready to go when weaned about 5mo. old.... a 25% deposit will hold them till delivery or pickup...
Yatti LaBelle is the name of the little royal heifer calf, she was born here 5/9 to our Yahoo Bloo T081. Yahoo is from our famously tame 'Sherpa line'. Yatti's sire is our herd bull Thor Y052 .He is massive yet gentle and loves being brushed, plus a pedigree that goes back to the first yaks imported into the US. Yatti's price is $2400.00 OBO. Purchase Terms
25% down will hold Yatti until delivery or pickup. We can create a breeding pair or a starter herd with local yak ranchers. HCC gives careful consideration to pedigrees prior to pairing up to insure no inbreeding will occur.
